Shiftlings and Half-Shiftlings

Shiftlings

A special kind of shapeshifter that constantly inhabits traits from their spirit blood (special blood that's tied to any animal). They tend to disguise themselves as humans despite having their slightly animalistic appearances. Each shiftling has a monstrous form, which essentially just transforms them into a monstrous version of their spirit blood.

Half-Shiftlings

A result of a human gaining the spirit blood of a shiftling. This can be through drinking a shiftling's blood or injecting it into one's bloodstream. They don't have the shapeshifting powers but rather the half-animal appearance and monstrous form of one. The effects of the spirit blood greatly increase if it is injected.
